Inspiration is everywhere!

I'm one of those lucky people that has off on Columbus Day.  I've seen a few funny posts here and there- one of them was "Let's celebrate Columbus Day by walking into someone's house and telling them we live there now."  Seems fitting for the day!

It's been great having today off.  I spent the morning taking some me time (going to Boxing at Peter Welch's Gym in South Boston) and Gunner (our Old English Bulldog) time.  It finally felt like Fall and we enjoyed a walk on the Beach.  Gunner has been my inspiration for a lot of things - he forces me to 'stop and smell the roses', which for someone who is always on the go is extremely difficult.

On our walk this morning, he got to enjoy the beach and I had time to think.  It put things in perspective.  As an entrepreneur, it's hard to take a step back and look at what you've accomplished, and tell yourself you're doing a great job.  This morning, I did just that.  Gunner also inspired me to focus on what I love, and I'm going to work on a new idea!  I think I've gotten the inspiration I need!  Who knows where it's going to take me - but at least I'll be doing something that I love.  Isn't that what being an entrepreneur is all about?

As a product manager, I'm always pushing myself in a million different directions - which I love, but sometimes I forget to take a breather.  Doing what you love is important, and enjoying what you do is even more important.  Remember to enjoy the journey and not just the destination!
